IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM OUR SEJAOA PRESIDENT
In this Lenten season may we all reflect and take inventory of our Christian lives.  Are we faithful? Do we worship regularly? Are we serving others in ministry and mission? Do we have a strong prayer life? Are we as the body of Christ prepared “To Serve the Present Age: Living Your Faith”?
The Wisdom and Grace Conference, August 10-13. 2009, at Lake Junaluska, NC is an opportunity for each of us to explore and share with others how we are serving the present age and living our faith.  The workshop opportunities, worship services, and plenary sessions will help us to learn new and creative ways to serve in ministry and mission and to strengthen our spiritual walk through new and renewed adventures in our faith.
Join with Older Adults from across the South Eastern Jurisdition for four days of faith-sharing, fellowship and fun this August at the 2009 Wisdom and Grace Conference.  CLICK HERE for the on-line brochure, information and registration at Lake Junaluska.   Rev. Dr. Reginald Mallet, minister and physician from Great Britain, is the conference preacher; and Bishop William Morris, retired bishop of the Tennessee Conference is our platform speaker.  There are nine diverse and exciting workshops for you to choose from. The Junaluska Singers will perform at our worship services, and our special concert performance on Wednesday evening is Archie Jordan.
In keeping with the SEJAOA mission to develop leadership, the professional track will be led by Edna L. Ballard, MSWA, ACSW, and Social Worker from Duke University. She will lead a two-day workshop on “My Brother’s Keeper: Providing Solace, Care and Comfort to Persons with Alzheimer’s and the Families Who Care for Them.”
“You did not choose me but I chose you to go and bear fruit, fruit that will last, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask him in my name.” (John 15:16)
